I am in awe over this newstory about a Siberian woman who shares her apartment with 136 cats. 136 cats!
I have four cats, and even they are too much to control. Every one of them is an individual being with a strong personality. How in the world could anyone cope with 136 of the critters.
This woman intends to help these animals, but is she really? I can’t decide. I, too, would want to keep them from being euthanized, but perhaps euthenization is better than some fates.
And where are the litter boxes? Please tell me there are litter boxes. Like 40 of them…

Bless her heart for doing her best to help counter the indifference of so many people. If only we all cared a little bit, she wouldn’t feel compelled to care so much. Those cats are living like chickens, yikes!
I’m glad I’m able to stop at 3 cats…
Spay and neuter your pets and strays!

could we perhaps start a site to help solicit donations for her, or arrange for donations to be f/warded to her. This are living sentient beings, we cannot just euthanize them or throw them out into the streets.
any suggestions.

does anyone know how one can get in touch with this lady, something can be done to put her in contact with humane or other charitable organizations and some form of funding can be directed to her to help her in her selfless act of kindness.

I’m all for the donations for her. I think she’s amazing.
I, too, was wondering where the litterboxes were, and if she spays/neuters all the animals she has (in order to keep from having too many on hand or being forced to abandon some).
I can’t imagine living with 136 cats, either. How the hell do you name all of them?! How do you tell all of them apart right off the bat?
And how do you keep the litterbox clean?! I know that we only have one cat, and we used to be able to clean her litterbox twice a day, and now we sometimes have to clean it up to 3 times a day (she’s older now and has kidney disease).
I simply couldn’t live with 136 cats. I’d be angry all the time by how often I’d have to feed them, and how often I’d have to clean the litter boxes. Although, in theory, if she feeds them at specific times, rather than free feed, she can control when they’ll have to use the litterbox. But with a three-room house, I doubt she’d be able to create a set number of groups to feed at set times, in order to control how often she has to clean the litterbox.
I have to wonder how many cats she has to shove off her bed in order to sleep at night. And how many cats she winds up kicking in the night, just because she’s changing a position.
It does sound like a really cool thing to have, but it certainly isn’t for me. I guess I *am* afraid of hard work :/ The part I’m more afraid of is not having a break between cleanings of litterboxes. I bet they’re really full every morning when she gets up and every night when she comes home from work.
